BEAM Community of Practice
The BEAM Community Practice is a group of more than 200 faculty and staff implementing initiatives at the University broadly focused on belonging.
In addition to offering encouragement and support for these individuals, the Office of Belonging, Engagement, and Mission provides resources for social, intellectual, and spiritual engagement that enhance institutional flourishing; opportunities for discernment and reflection centered on the University’s mission; and an arena in which to discuss the implications of Martin Luther King, Jr.’s concept of “beloved community” for life at Notre Dame.

Inclusive Leadership Colloquium Lecture Series
The Office of Belonging, Engagement, and Mission—in partnership with Human Resources and the Provost’s Office—is pleased to sponsor the Inclusive Leadership Colloquium Lecture Series (ILCLS) for faculty and staff. ILCLS features insightful innovators and experts in inclusive leadership who share ideas, best practices, and inspiration that support a local instantiation of the beloved community on campus.
Love, Light, and Common Ground Microgrants
The Love, Light, and Common Ground Microgrant initiative is designed to provide resources to faculty, staff, and students interested in creating opportunities—e.g., small gatherings over shared meals, reading groups, discussion groups, etc.—that foster connection, mutual respect, and the discovery of common ground. Awards of up to $500 are available to help nurture the Beloved Community at Notre Dame.
Presentations and Facilitated Discussions
Our office is available to deliver presentations and facilitate discussions on building the beloved community at Notre Dame. In-person and virtual opportunities are available.
Speakers Bureau
The Speakers Bureau features Notre Dame faculty and staff who can conduct talks internally and externally on a variety of topics that contribute to a more inclusive environment. These subject-matter experts bring deep knowledge, experience, and passion that can help build awareness and understanding in the areas that affect you most.
Wellsprings: A Time for Connection and Care
The Office of Belonging, Engagement, and Mission, in partnership with the Initiative on Race and Resilience, invites students, faculty, and staff to gather for support and fellowship.
