Immigrant Heritage Month 2026

This Immigrant Heritage Month, we recognize the many contributions of Notre Dame’s immigrant community members.

About the observance

Each year in June, the United States observes Immigrant Heritage Month. The observance highlights the nation’s long history of immigration as well as the immigrants and descendants of immigrants whose cultures and traditions have enriched American society and culture. U.S. President Barack Obama issued the first Immigrant Heritage Month proclamation in 2014.
